If any of you happen to watch the Vikings-Cowboys game this past weekend you probably heard A LOT about Brett Farve (what? that’s how its pronounced). You know, how amazing Brett is, what a great game he was having, how unbelievable it is that he’s p
laying so well at his age, and Brett this, and Brett that. It gets like this during every Vikings’ game and its to the point where I can’t even bare to watch a game involving Brett the Great anymore. The media’s love affair with him is getting completely out of control and someone out there needs to put a stop to it.
Let me set one things straight, I am not a Brett Favre hater. In fact, I think he is fun to watch and I have more respect for him as a player than anyone that has ever played in the Bears’ division. Statistically he’s the greatest player to ever play his position and some of the things he does are pretty freaking ridiculous, but he’s not bigger than football or more important than the game that he’s playing in. A Brett Favre game means 3 hours of non stop Favre love, a half hour a post game Favre love, and most of the Sportscenter playing Favre highlights and press conferences. I was listening to the Viking-Cowboy game on the radio (or at least trying to) and the Favre love got so out of hand that there were times during the game that I went several minutes without an update from the game because the announcers were to busy talking about how great Favre is. Seriously, it was “Brett Brett Brett Brett Brett, and ohh yeah, we should probably tell you that the Cowboys have a 4 play 50 yard drive going, Brett Brett Brett Brett.” I wish I was making that up.
And if the Vikings can pull off a win at New Orleans this coming weekend just imagine how bad it will be. Not only will Favre will have taken the Vikings back to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 70s, but the media will have two weeks to talk about it. If that happens were are going to start seeing Brett’s daily miracle updates. Brett heeled the sick, Brett gave sight to the blind, today Brett single handedly fixed all the problems of Haiti and tomorrow he’s going to work on world peace, and blah blah blah blah blah. And just imagine how bad it would be during the actual game. It wouldn’t be the Super Bowl, it would turn into the Media Loves Brett Bowl. It is for this reason, well this and that I love Drew Brees and would root for him against anyone except the Bears, that I really hope the Saints stick it to the Vikings on Sunday. So if any of the Saints players see this, please don’t let him ruin the Super Bowl for me!

I think we have our newest section on Fanbrew. The Brett Favre Daily Miracle Updates.
Awesome article, I was actually laughing out loud.
Adam
P.S. I think all Chuck Norris jokes need to become Brett Favre jokes.
E.G. When Brett Favre jumps into a lake he doesn’t get wet, the lake get’s Brett Favred.
Favre would have to be the 4th coming of Christ if that’s the case. Joe Montana was the second in the 80′s and MJ was the 3rd in the 90′s. You’re just a victim of your electronic age 24/7 on demand information society. Be prepared to have your Super Bowl ruined as Favre becomes the anointed one this Sunday. While I’ll be rooting loudly for Drew Brees and the Saints the D makes the difference in this game as in the Saints don’t have one. Favre carves up the Saints d and Minnesota has just enough d to keep Brees from winning. Then all the worlds ills will come to an end and Eden will rise!
AMEN!!! I am so sick of Bret Favre!!! I, also, agree that he is one of the best quarterbacks ever, but this is just getting ridiculous! I will say, however, that ever since he started becoming a diva, I lost a lot of respect for him. I understand that he isn’t completely to blame for the Green Bay situation, but really he has been playing the “I don’t know if I’m gonna retire” thing for the last 4 or 5 years. I remember going to the Bears-Packers game on New Year’s Eve and he was crying like a baby about how he’s had such a great career, blah blah blah! Make a decision and stick with it. Anyways, I hope that Drew Brees does to Bret Favre what he did to Tom Brady!!! LET’S GO SAINTS!!!
Jeez, I am surprised all of these comments don’t just end with BOILER UP! What is with all the love for the inferior QB? Is it just because he was a Boilermaker?
BOILER UP!!
Inferior? Adam have you been living under a rock for the past 4 years or what. Maybe that marriage thing is getting to you or something huh? He’s just been the most prolific passer in the NFL since he got there, better stats than either of the Manning boys, Rivers and the anointed one! Boiler Up! Toot, Toot!
