I read an interesting story by “MJD” from Yahoo sports about how Eli is owed over $500,000.00 for a marketing promotion from St. Vincent’s hospital in NY, which happens to be something ridiculous like 700 million in debt so he is refusing to take the payment.
Not only is Manning not taking the money, but he has agreed to continue fund raising for the hospital for free. Looks like the Mannings may not be so bad after all.
There is a little hullabaloo about how he already took 500,000 from the hospital, but I don’t think that means much since I am sure at the time he didn’t know they where millions in debt, and it isn’t like he forced them to sign the contract.
Let me know what you think in the comments below.

In related news, let’s discuss how terrible MJD is. I’ve had to stop reading the ‘shutdown corner’ because I just couldn’t take it anymore.
As a Chargers fan (yes, I know, don’t laugh), I can never think Eli is anything but evil after threatening to not play football if we drafted him. However, this now makes him seem less evil…like Dr. Evil instead of Lex Luthor.
Personally, I think his ears are too big and he needs to have them pinned back by a surgeon. Anyone else???
I think he may look dumber than his brother which is quite a difficult thing to accomplish.
That is good to hear you guys not being so tough on the Mannings. And bravo to Eli for not taking the payment.
On a related front, I didn’t realize there were getting paid so much for doing fundraisers, but I guess everyone has to make a living right?
And 500,000 is only half of it.
