Dear Chicago Cubs,
Thanks for nothing.
Your cheapest seat is $27.00 and it is advertised as “LIMITED VIEW”. If I want to take my wife and son to a game it is going to cost me $81 before I even leave my house. Tack on food and parking and I am $150.00 deep and can’t even see the game.
Next time please throw in a fat man who takes up half my seat and you have yourself a deal.
Thank you,
Adam Mlynarcik

Throw in a non stop, crying baby and you got yourself a deal.
That is why I only go to a Cubs game is when someone else pays. Go White Sox with arms on the chairs, Miller Lite and off street parking that does not cost me an arm and a leg.
Dave,
Too bad Miller Lite has nothing on an Old Style. And I would see at Murphy’s before paying for a seat at the Cell.
Adam
Until we fans stop paying the freight, nothing is going to change. That said, I’m sure I will try to get to a game when up there in June, so I am part of the problem.
Hopefully some day soon you Cub fans will learn. It wasn’t that long ago (just back in the 80′s)that the Cubs were only averaging around 14,000 fans a game. Since they became this loveable loser national phenom thing though they just keep raising prices and losing games. Why do you think Ricketts shelled out almost a billion for that team. He knows he’s got the fans hooked on that team like a junkie on crack cocaine! You guys just keep feeding the fix and they’ll keep right on losing!!!
In the meantime the White Sox will keep putting an entertaining and competitive product out there on the field, continue to draw their 2.5 million loyal fans each year with plenty of elbow room at the bar and treat their fans to an entertaining season of professional baseball the way it should be played!!!! Albeit for a pretty hefty price but not that of the gold standard for sub par performance that comes with the north side team.
Adam,
come to my rescue here man. Wow!
I opened the door to these critics with my article.
I am absolutely a CUBS fan. However, for conveinence “Comiskey” (I refuse to call it U.S. Cellular) is far better experience for the money. Especially for the Indiana fans. Its an easy drive compared to the Northside, the parking is much easier (on Comiskey’s lots, your not giving your keys away, have you seen Farris Bueller), and I’ve never had a bad seat. The area is surprisingly getting better.
NOW THATS THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATE!!!!!
Dave,
If you like looking over your shoulder for muggers, gang bangers, & prostitutes while enjoying the beautiful ambiance of the projects come on down and enjoy a game a U.S. Comiscular.
Plus the Cubs have been tops in their division for a few years and while they have been unable to bring it home when it matters the Sosa streak, the good teams of the past few years, and the overall enjoyment of what is Wrigelyville makes it worth the wait.
I would rather be a lovable loser than a project trick anyday.
Go Cubs!
PS Still pissed about the ticket prices.
Been going to the south side for almost 50 years now, since I was 6. Never had nothing but fun, don’t have a clue to what you’re even saying Adam. But I do know from my 1 experience on the north side I had to keep my hand over my zipper the whole time I was there. Friendliest and largest gay bar I’ve ever seen!!!!
As far as being tops in their division? The Cubs have been nothing but teasers for the last 101 & counting years!! And with 3 everyday positions, 3 starting pitching spots & 4 relief pitching spots open for competition in Cubs camp this spring it looks like Sweet Lou has another team of a whole lotta hype and tease on his hands. The junkie just keeps feeding you addicts doesn’t he!!!
Give me a call when your whole team can pass through customs and we will talk again.
Attaboy!
Low blow…. But ozzie did speak better ingles before he managed
Can you say Zambrano, Ramirez, Pinella, Fukadummy, Castro, Guzman, etc., etc., etc. You have some passport problems too!!! At least Ozzie is a US citizen and pays USA taxes!!
I’m talking about your boy Alexi “The Cuban Missile Crisis” Ramirez that couldn’t even go with the team to Toronto last year for fear that he wouldn’t be allowed back in the States.
I know, he couldn’t be sure he had an up to date passport!!!
We just love those Latin American players on the south side. We’re not even sure if some of them are old enough to be legally employed in the US or if some of them are old enough to be eligible for Social Security retirement payments. Of course most of them have never even paid a dime to the SS!!
ps, none of them ever come with legal birth certs.!!
If price is the issue, the Railcats are the way to go. It’s the best of both worlds: mediocre playing, cheap beer (2 bucks on Thursdays), minimal attendance, 5 dollar parking (at MOST), and loud drunken gay assholes ‘bumping’ into you accidentally.
