And those are the losers cause Bud Light is Champion….of the world!
Well, it is all said and done after 21 days of intense head to head competition we are finally ready to crown Bud Light the innaugural Old Chicago and Fanbrew.com beer bracket champion. I hope you all had a fun time tasting new beers, voting for your favorites, and winning prizes from Old Chicago.
The bracket tournament was one hell of a fun time and a great success with more than 1,200 combined votes from online ballots and ballots cast at the Merrillville and Champaign Old Chicago Pizza locations. I so wanted to participate in the OC beer bracket tournament. Since the huge success I can’t wait for next year. Maybe you can do more tournaments throughout the year like a summer one or a winter one; adam just think about that.
Jay,
We are looking to do something. I would like to get in with them on a mini tour event and give away some shirts or something.
Hopefully we will get something in the works.
Adam
How Sam Adams lost to Miller Light is beyond me…I don’t even remember seeing that voting page up online? I think Adam rigged that one just to drive me crazy.
Robbie,
There was no rigging set up, just some dead people voting in Chicago. But it really wouldn’t have mattered as Miller Lite destroyed the competition in all but 1 round where BL came out victorious.
Adam
Thats just it though, I can’t find the posting anywhere of the Miller Light Vs Sam Adams Poll.
Not every poll was listed individually, but every poll was made available on the original beer bracket tournament page.
Stella getting beat by Bud Light is a joke!!..Stella on tap is amazing!!!
All the craft beer and import lovers are coming out of the wood work after the tourney is over. Where were you guys when we needed votes to take down the mega beers?
I just heard about the site today!!
Damn, then we need to be promoting harder so you guys can find us sooner.
There is no way any of those beers had a chance in a bracket style elimination tournament. The masses called for a champion and they got one……although I drink Miller Lite……This Bud’s for you!!!
Sad but true.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…… OH THE HUMANITY!!!!
Hey Joe, Did you vote? Because if not I don’t want to hear any complaints.
I didnt vote because there were no good beers to vote on
…. wait was this a toliet bowl bracket? that can be the only explanation.
I must have missed the real beer bracket…please tell me i missed the real beer bracket…then I can feel better about it…please….. tell me…… i need to sleep at night.
On a side note when is there a homebrew tournament
i have a mean barley wine to enter
Joe,
No good beers? You are crazy! How do you not like Sierra Nevada or Hazed and Infused?
As soon as I move I will begin home brewing and we will have to have a contest. Hopefully withing the next month.
Adam
Depends on what Sierra Nevada we are talking about? The sub par Pale Ale? Torpedo? Big Foot? The Sierra Nevada Torpedo is superb and the Big Foot is amazing especially on tap.
Look forward to the homebrew competition!! nicely done site by the way!!
Joe,
The Pale Ale was my seque into the world of craft beer so it has a serious place in my heart. I too love the torpedo and think it is one of their best. I haven’t had Big Foot, but will keep my eye out for it.
Thanks for being a participant on the site, the banter you have created has been fantastic.
I look forward to doing a homebrew competition as well. If you ever want me to review one of your beers feel free to send it my way. (hint hint)
Also thanks for the compliment on the site. I have checked out your hosting site a few times and it looks pretty nicely done.
Adam
Good times!!
the PA is good dont get me wrong. I drink it mostly at restaurants that basically have the PA as their best available beer.
The Big Foot is Seasonal barley wine. If you look hard enough You might be able to find it at some liquor stores right now…possibly. Though its goin fast
3 Floyds had it on tap about a month ago… and they are out of it already
Maybe Ill see you at Dark Lord Day!
