OK, so I know I’ve been writing a lot about Ben Roethlisberger’s fall from grace, but I had to write about this little article I saw on www.espn.com. I promise unless Ben commits a random act of violence this will be my last article on him (I just love the drama of it all). First and foremost I am waiting on a statement from Roethlisberger. I can not wait until he comes out to the media and speaks about his “transgressions,” (Just a jab at Tiger…Sorry I had too) but before that… Roethlisberger has not only been scorned by the NFL and millions of fans, but even by the elephants at the Pittsburgh Zoo.
A comparison of Roethlisberger was on display at a zoo exhibit comparing the heights of people verus elephants and other animals. With Roethlisberger’s current situation the Pittsburgh zoo removed Roethlisberger from the display and added NHL Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux. (BTW…Lemieux is apparently 6’5”, news to me…) ESPN reported, a manager of public and media relations for the Pittsburgh zoo, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “Mr. Roethlisberger isn’t the most popular person lately.”
With all this being said, “Big Ben’s” appeal is falling fast. Trade rumors are swirling around him like fish in a barrel, his career is in shambles, and his personal life is a mess (Oh my…Rukes that was for you). I just have one question and it was brought up today while talking with a co-worker. Where were Ben’s friends? Or even bodyguard’s for that matter. No one had enough sense to realize what was going on in that Georgia club was bad? The only thing I can think of is Roethlisberger surrounded himself with a bunch of “yes” men and didn’t have any friends. Ben my advice to you is this… You have a cold wave of cards comin’ brother. You need to walk away from the table and find another game!
