The Next Step For The Bulls

The Chicago Bulls season came to an expected end as they failed to move passed King James and the Cavaliers earlier this week. This wasn’t a big surprise, even with James injured and not playing at 100% I didn’t expect the Bulls to make it passed the Cavs for the simple fact that they aren’t that good.

This season had it’s share of highlights with Noah and Rose really putting together a solid effort and showing that both of them can grow to become stand out players in Chicago as well as the NBA. But to go with those highlights we had several lowlights too, a lot of injuries and of course the cat fight that is going on between John Paxson and Vinny “the hair” Del Negro that has gotten a huge amount of attention in the media and on this site.

So I ask the question what is next for the Bulls? If you were GM what would you be out doing? And most importantly is Del Negro coming back for another season in Chicago?

If it were me I am not sure what I would do. Noah showed that he can work in the paint and Rose showed that given the opportunity to score at will he can. But even then I feel like Chicago is missing a dominant force and leader for their team. Now the biggest rumor and point of attention is getting D. Wade to come to Chicago. Will it happen, my guess is no, and I don’t think it would work all that well anyway.

D. Wade is a scorer just like D. Rose both guys are going to go out there and dominate the offensive side of the ball and in my opinion I don’t need two guys fighting over ball time when it comes to scoring. What I need is a true point guard that can bring the ball down the court set up plays and dish the ball out to Rose or Noah really allowing both of them to do what they do best score and rebound. Now don’t get me wrong, both Rose and Wade can play the position and dish the ball off getting around 7 assists per game, but wouldn’t it be nice to have a 25 ppg guard getting the ball from somebody that can consistently put up 17 points and 10 assists while running a structured offense?

I don’t really have an answer for the Bulls woes, but I think the best bet is too look for a player that can add value to all the players on the team and not just to add another offensive weapon.

Make sure you leave a comment below. Tell me what you would do if you were the Bulls GM. Who would you be getting and would you be bringing “the hair” back?

If I were GM, Vinny is out. He is a bum. Then I wouldn’t go after Wade at all. As you mentioned, it wouldn’t work. Who are they going to beat in a series? A couple of bummy teams, but that isn’t the mix they need in Chicago.

I would go after Bosh or Boozer to bring an inside defense and scoring theat in the paint. Two guards don’t win championships, you typically need a scoring guard and big man unless you are Jordan and Pippen.
