Well by now you all probably know the Chicago Blackhawks beat the San Jose Shark in four (4) games to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. What you may not have heard yet is how Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews refused to touch the Clarence Campbell Bowl on Sunday afternoon after the win!
Now like most people superstition is part of everyday life. Personally I have not worn matching socks for almost six (6) years. (That doesn’t make me weird!!!!)
Following the game Toews went to accept the Western Conference Trophy, but he didn’t touch it!!!! ESPN reported Toews stated, “To me, it’s not being superstitious,” Toews said. “It’s saying we’re here for bigger and better things.” We’re just happy about winning this round and moving on. That’s what it’s all about. We’re happy about that and have nothing to celebrate. No reason to pick up any hardware yet, because it’s meaningless to us.”
No problems from me with all this, but I think it was all about superstition. What are you thoughts????
