RIP George Steinbrenner

The man behind the money and the empire that is the New York Yankees, George Steinbrenner has passed away at the age of 80 of a heart attack. Love him or hate him Steinbrenner has polarized fans, owners, and everybody for decades as he spent his way to the top in MLB, but nobody can deny the impact he had on baseball and his dedication to his team.

During Steinbrenners reign as “the boss” he saw 7 World Series Championships come to his beloved team and is responsible for the some of the biggest names in baseball playing long careers in pinstripes a trademark amongst some of the greatest hall of famers.

According to Yahoo.com:

Steinbrenner had a heart attack, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Fla., and died at about 6:30 a.m, a person close to the owner told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team had not disclosed those details.

George you may not be loved by everyone, but you will surely be remembered by everyone for what you have done for baseball.

    I’ve got a serious problem with the lack of respect people at the MLB All-Star game had during the moment of silence for Steinbrenner! I’m calling B.S. on the Anniheim fans!
