Yesterday’s News

Hey Internet,

Sorry for the delay in posting new content, but I am full of excuses for my lack of effort lately.  Ryan P. has been firing articles at me for the last few weeks and I just have not found the time to get them up on the site.  So instead of posting a bunch of new articles about stuff you have probably already read let’s just take a look at yesterday’s, maybe even yesterweeks sports stories.

First up is mans best friend Michael Vick says F You to the rules.

Michael Vick and his “entourage” (I didn’t use the word…the nightclub owner did) were at a Virginia Beach night club last Thursday (06/24/10) and left minutes before gunshots rang out!  Guess who was admitted to the hospital for a gunshot wound that night?  You guessed it….ESPN is reporting, “Quanis Phillips, one of the co-defendants in the dog fighting case that landed Vick in federal prison for 18 months. A hospital spokesman confirmed that Phillips was admitted to the hospital Friday morning and discharged that afternoon but refused to disclose his injuries, citing privacy laws.”

Michael Vick reportedly was interviewed by Police where he told investigators’ “he did not know he wasn’t involved, he was gone before the shooting took place, and he doesn’t know who did the shooting.”  Yeah right…..surveillance video reportedly shows Vick’s vehicle leaving the scene approximately three (3) minutes prior to the shooting!

Vick is obviously an idiot!  The man gets a second chance at redemption and he squanders it.  NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, reinstated Vick last summer stating Vick would have “extremely limited” margin for error.  This guy doesn’t get it…..You get a chance to play backup quarterback in the most prestigious football league in the world, make millions of dollars, all this after a 18 month federal prison stint.  Why is this guy even allowed to? Your telling me there are not another 100 guys that could do the very same thing Vick’s doing?  I guess the saying is true….”You can take the rat out of the hood, but you can’t take the hood out of the rat!”  NFL get rid of this guy! Society, I wouldn’t mind if you got rid of him either.  I don’t care if he paid his debt to the dog fighting charge…this guy is a piece of work and hopefully this latest incident smells the end of Michael Vick.  Roger Goodell….if your listening, you need to run a classier league!

Lebron has Hops For Life!

We know he has hops on the court, but now he has them off the court.  As the entire sports world is focused on where Lebron will land as the July 8th opening for free agent trading begins the world is trying to recruit Lebron James.  Efforts from a Chicago marketing firm went as far as sending James a pair of classic Jordan’s and asking him if he could “fill these shoes” but I think Cleveland has sweetened the deal a bit more.

A Cleveland area brewery, Chardon BrewWorks & Eatery, has officially offered LeBron James a lifetime of beer to stay in Cleveland.  Personally, I think this would be enough to entice me to stay, but for a health nut like Lebron, I don’t know….maybe that’s why Anytime fitness is throwing in a lifetime gym membership to Lebron and his entourage.
